Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Overview

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains your rights regarding subscription cancellations, refunds, and the statutory right of withdrawal under EU law. This policy supplements our Terms of Service (Section 6).

2. Free Trial

  • New accounts receive a 3-day free trial.
  • A valid credit card is required to start the trial.
  • The trial includes 10 AI-Crafted Posts and 10 AI Refinement Credits.
  • You will not be charged during the trial period.
  • If you cancel before the trial ends, no charge will be applied.
  • After the trial, you will need to subscribe to a paid plan to continue using the Service.

3. Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumers)

If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the statutory right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of purchase without giving a reason, as provided by the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU).

3.1 How to Exercise Your Right of Withdrawal

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision by sending a clear statement to:

Your withdrawal statement should include:

  • Your full name and email address associated with your account.
  • The date of your subscription purchase.
  • A clear statement that you wish to withdraw from the contract.

3.2 Withdrawal Period

The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day you subscribed to the Service. To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient to send your withdrawal request before the 14-day period has expired.

3.3 Effects of Withdrawal

If you withdraw from the contract within the 14-day period:

  • We will reimburse all payments received from you, without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day we are informed of your decision to withdraw.
  • Reimbursement will be made using the same payment method you used for the initial transaction (via Stripe), unless you expressly agree otherwise.
  • Access to the Service will be terminated upon processing of the refund.

3.4 Exception for Digital Content

In accordance with Article 16(m) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive, please note that by actively using the Service (e.g., generating AI content, creating Brand Brain profiles, publishing posts), you acknowledge that the performance of the digital service has begun with your prior express consent. If you have used the Service extensively (created more than 10 content pieces), we may deduct a proportionate amount reflecting the digital services already provided at the time of withdrawal. However, we will always process refund requests within the 14-day window in good faith.

4. Refund Policy (Beyond Withdrawal Period)

After the 14-day withdrawal period has expired, the following refund policy applies:

  • No refunds are available after 14 days from the subscription purchase date.
  • No partial refunds for unused time within a billing period.
  • No refunds for unused credits that expire at the end of a billing period.
  • Refunds are not available if your account has been terminated for violation of our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy.

5. Subscription Cancellation

5.1 How to Cancel

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings within the Service, or by emailing us at info@scalemedia.ai.

5.2 Effect of Cancellation

  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • You retain full access to the Service until the end of your paid period.
  • No further charges will be applied after cancellation.
  • Your data is retained for 30 days after account termination, then permanently deleted (see our Privacy Policy).

5.3 Auto-Renewal

All subscriptions renew automatically. For monthly plans, renewal occurs on the same date each month. For annual plans, renewal occurs on the anniversary of your subscription start date. You will receive a reminder email before renewal. To avoid being charged, cancel before the renewal date.

6. Promotional Pricing

Any discount, promotional code, or reduced pricing applied at checkout applies only to the first billing cycle unless explicitly stated otherwise. After the discounted period, your subscription renews at the standard rate shown on our pricing page. See Terms of Service Section 6.7 for full details.

Scale Media AI is an early-stage productprovided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we strive to deliver a high-quality service, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free AI outputs, or any specific business outcomes. Refund eligibility is determined solely by the terms described in this policy and our Terms of Service — not by subjective satisfaction with AI-generated content quality.
